Wall Street opens higher as December Fed rate-cut bets grow

(Reuters) -Wall Street’s main stock indexes opened higher on Wednesday, as investors parsed through a fresh batch of economic data and cemented expectations the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates in December.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 83.7 points, or 0.18%, at the open to 47,196.15. The S&P 500 rose 27.7 points, or 0.41%, at the open to 6,793.55​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 137.6 points, or 0.60%, to 23,163.194 at the opening bell.
